Surprise on the training ground: Is Bastian Schweinsteiger standing at the peloton at Manchester United?
On Monday, he can train with the team again for the first time in weeks.
Coach José Mourinho had struck him shortly after the start of the season.
World champion Bastian Schweinsteiger is obviously ahead of his pardon at Manchester United. On Monday the 32-year-old midfielder, José Mourinho, was able to train with the professionals for the first time. United published photos of the unit and of a smiling pig who is on the way to the training ground together with Wayne Rooney and the ex-Dortmunder Henrich Mchitarjan.
The former Munich had been banned from the squad by Mourinho at the start of the season. Schweinsteiger has been training since then individually or with the second team of the English tradition club. A draw in the Europa League on Thursday at Fenerbahce Istanbul is however excluded: Schweinsteiger is not reported for the European Cup.
For Manchester, the season under Mourinho is anything but as desired. That's why the calls for Schweinsteiger were also getting louder and louder. United are only a disappointing eight place in the Premier League, despite immense investment - including 105 million euros for the Frenchman Paul Pogba. The gap to the top is already eight points.
Criticism of Ballack and Neuer
The handling of Mourinho with the long-time DFB captain had been criticized by many as unworthy. Most recently, Michael Ballack had criticized Mourinho. "The least that Bastian can expect is the respect he has earned for his great performance and career," wrote the 40-year-old at Twitter.
Manuel Neuer, a successor to Schweinsteiger as a DFB captain, had recently expressed his misunderstanding about the treatment of his former team-mate: "Basti is almost a pain for him To a side court, where he trains alone. " His only game in the current season was Schweinsteiger on 31 August with his national team farewell against Finland.
